### FAQ
**Do I need a Google account?**
Not if you use the standalone `.html` app — it runs entirely offline in your browser. If you prefer Google Sheets, a free Google account is all you need.
**Do I need to know how to code?**
No. The Sheets version is a copy link — click and go. The HTML app is a file you open like any document.
**Where does my data go in the offline app?**
It saves automatically to your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device. Export to CSV any time from the toolbar.
**How does the overdue alert work?**
If an invoice has a Due Date set and that date has passed and the Status is still Unpaid, the due date turns red automatically. Works the same way in both the Sheets and HTML versions.
**Does this replace FreshBooks, Wave, or QuickBooks?**
No — it's a visibility and tracking tool, not accounting software. It won't generate PDF invoices or send emails. This tells you exactly who owes you money and how much, without a monthly fee.
**Can I track partial payments?**
Log the partial payment in Payment History and add a note to the invoice. Mark the invoice Unpaid until fully paid.
**Does the dashboard update automatically?**
Yes in both versions — it reflects your current data at all times.
**Can I customize the invoice number format?**
Yes. Invoice # is a free-text field. Use INV-001, 2026-001, client initials — any format you like.
